We were at juliette's grandmothers house for about a half hour when a mariachi band strolled in.. you'll never hear trumpets until you hear them in a small room. there was dancing fun for all..
Old Quito at night
Very quiet and peacful downtown at night. The only place open was a little cafe that was the size of a walk-in closet.
Pichincha
Ecuador is 2900 meters above sea level. Then the Pichincha is another 4100 meters up. You can't get a nicer view of the city. A nice storm started while we were up there.
Our trip to Ecuador
Papallacta
Up in the Andes surrounded by even more massive mountains are the thermal hot springs of Papallacta. A Very beautiful spot. There are different temperature pools as well as a very very cold river. Nice hiking trails around as well.
Independence day
No flippin' burgers for such a special day in Ecuador. The entire city shuts down and they party. Music in the streets until 6 in the morning or so.. think it was around then. The sun was up when we got home.
Mitel del Mundo
The middle of the world! They painted a line separating the northern and southern hemisphere. In the background is the monument they built and in the foreground is a pole. They sometimes hang gifts from the top and the first one that reaches the top wins...However there were no prizes when i reached the top..It was still a good time.
